How to Add an Audio File to Blogger Using Soundcloud.com, This Week

Welcome to the J.Q. Rose blog! Glad you stopped in because I have some good information on how to add an audio file to Blogger!

If you recall I mentioned earlier I joined D'vorah Lansky, the Book Challenge, this summer.

I signed up for a month long workshop to become a better marketer. I must admit the informative speakers have stretched my world with many possibilities for marketing my books.

D'vorah's guests included specialists in so many fields and suggested using many kinds of technology in blogs including audio recordings, teleseminars, webinars, movies to vary the blog postings and increase interest in the author's blogs. Taking her advice, I have been trying to figure out first, how to make an audio recording, and second, how to get it on blogger. I learned a bit about Audacity.com to make recordings. But I had a very difficult time figuring out how to put the audio file on Blogger after spending all that time making it and converting it to an mp3 file.

Today I am happy to report "Success" in getting the file into my blog post. I finally found the key by joining Soundcloud.com I look forward to learning more about Soundcloud. Here's a video to help you figure out how to add audio to Blogger. Now you can learn how to add your voice too!

You're invited to listen to the recording I made. Find it at the end of this article. Yes, suggestions are welcome. Was it clear? Was the volume right for you? Any input would be appreciated!

My next goal is to be a guest on a radio show and teleseminar. Then after that, I would like to interview authors on my own teleseminars. What do you think? Would you like to be my guest or host me some time in the future?

This Week:

Wednesday, August 6--Internet Writers Support Group posting-What is IWSG? Founder of IWSG and author Alex J Cavanaugh explains the group's purpose is "to share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!"

The group blogs the first Wednesday of every month, so come back on Wednesday to see how insecure I am! LOL The list of bloggers is always available so you can hop around to the author blogs filled with humor, advice, and thought provoking posts.

Thursday,  August 7--This 'n That post--information on my Work-in-Progress.

Hey, you've really worked hard at this! I also wondered how to add audio to Blogger, so I'm going to check out Sound Cloud.

Congrats on accomplishing this, J.Q. And, may I add, what a fantastic voice you have. :) How did you enjoy speaking into that mic???? Heh heh.

Joylene, yes, it took a lot of trial and error on recording and figuring out how to share it on Blogger. It was easy to put on my author web page though because the audio player was easy to upload the recording to it.

Why, I.B., I've never heard you compliment anyone before, and I will not be suspicious of your motives, so I will graciously say "thank you." Now I see why you always have a mic in your hand, it's a lot of fun! Thanks for visiting, I think...

J.Q. I am impressed with your recording and with the message to your ten year old self. This recording sounded as good as most audio books I have listened to. You have a wonderful voice and expression.

Excellent!

Susan, thank you so much. Your comment certainly gave me the support I need to keep on recording. I'm always afraid I have a nasal Midwestern tone in my voice that some may find grating! Appreciate you stpping in.

I think my internet is being hinky because it kept timing out before I could listen. Will have to try again. Will this work on Wordpress as well?

Better late than never, Tess. Yes, it will work on Wordpress but WP may have their own audio player. Not sure. Hope you got to listen to the recording. Thanks for stopping by.
