I hope you've had a great kick-off to the holiday season.
Madness and merriment abound this time of year.
Just a Reminder: Balance the pressures and problems with love and joy.
Take time to breathe and experience each moment.

Last week we had a great time with my DH's brother. He visited us here in Florida all the way from Illinois.  It was unfortunate that Illinois was having a delightful weather pattern that week! LOL. What fun is flying all the way to FL and not have the opportunity to rub it in to your neighbors up north at how gorgeous it is here and how awful the weather is up there? No, he didn't have that chance, but hey, the weather was nice here too, thank goodness.

How many times in your writing career have you had "dreams" of how well  your project will go, but it doesn't? How many times are you disappointed with your book sales? Face it. Disappointment happens to all of us. But, have you found that usually something good will come out of the experience, that you learn something about yourself and your plans?

The holiday season can sometimes disappoint us too when that turkey is under-cooked, the family can't come home, the gifts you thought would be loved receive mediocre thanks or no thanks at all. I hope you won't be disappointed this season, but if you are discouraged, know that you can move on, and put the disillusionment behind you.

How do you deal with disappointment? Leave a comment below. I'd love to hear from you.

To be honest, I expect the worse and hope for the best. Sometimes adversity brings out the best in the people around me. My son has stepped up more than once and all I can say is proud parent out ranks everything else. :-)

Hey Anna, Bringing out the best in a person is a good way to look at it. Proud of your boy!

Hi JQ, these are great thoughts to dwell on in the Christmas season. We all strive to make Christmas perfect and to enjoy the perfect holiday, but of course that's impossible, and so disappointment seems to hit harder than at any other time.
I wish I could advise on dealing with disappointment. I deal with it well but only because my expectations are very low :) There must be a better answer than this, as people should be able to look forward with optimism.
Great post!
