December 5 question -

What are five objects we'd find in your writing space?
Now this is a difficult question for me to answer since I have several writing spaces.  So, I'll choose one thing from each space.
Writing at my dining room table.
1. Desk in Florida--a flamingo figurine given to me by a friend
2. Desk in Michigan--my mom's little pillow I gave her with a Q embroidered on it. My maiden name begins with Q and she always picked up Q's whenever she could find them e.g. stationary, towels, cut-out letters, jewelry. Q is NOT a popular letter with retailers.
3. Dining table in Florida--candle with a wreath of shells around it for the table centerpiece.
4. Dining table in Michigan--fresh flowers from our yard plunked in a vase. Depending on the season. In early spring, forsythia branches or pussy willows and in the fall a bowl of apples.
5. Kitchen Countertop in Michigan--a small TV
I also sit in our Michigan living room in the recliner or a table in our Florida sunroom and create stories. I never write at a coffee shop or area where there are people. I get easily distracted!!
How about you? Do you write in one place or many?

I write mostly one place since I live in a house with people who don't get writers and 3 dogs.

I write in the living room, on our sofa recliner. Hope you're enjoying some warmth and sunshine. We actually had sun yesterday, after days and days of rain or gray skies. Have a great month.

I can write (and have written) pretty much anywhere. On buses, planes, trains, in the washroom, on the beach, in the lunch room at work. Any place it strikes my fancy and I have the time to do it. I rarely write at a desk.

I love that your mum collected Qs, JQ!
I can write pretty much anywhere, but my favourite place is my living room, with my dog next to me - and a cup of tea!

Looks like no matter where you are you have little items of inspiration nearby. :-)

Ha Ha. Writers always have a place to write, if they force it.

I love your story about collecting Q's. That was so sweet. I can see why you keep that pillow in one of your writing spots.

That's sweet your mother always collected Q things for you. I bet that was a challenge.

Hey, JQ. I can see how difficult finding Qs for you would be. You write lots of different places. I guess that comes from living in tow locations. I'm with you. I can't write in coffee shops. Too busy watching folks. I've shared. :)

That's a good. I'd probably be more organized if I stayed in one place.

I can write in a recliner too, but after awhile, the laptop gets too heavy on my lap. Yes, we're having sunshine but can you believe the last couple of mornings have been in the 30's in Florida?? I doubt the FL Chamber of Commerce would like me to announce that!!

That's interesting! You are very flexible when it comes to where you write! And no desk...hmmmm..I love that!

J.Q. Rose said...

Now that sounds like a delightful place to write especially with Lexi by your side.

I never thought of the items as inspiration, but you're right. They are special to me.

J.Q. Rose said...

Do you know what? You're right!

J.Q. Rose said...

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the story.

J.Q. Rose said...

Yes, it was a challenge. Notice in the craft stores, It's unusual to find a Q even there.

Yes, Marsha, when we full timed in the RV, I wrote at the table and had to put away everything when we ate. Usually the extra chairs held my folders and printed out stories. Thanks for sharing!

I'm sorry I am not returning your visit but I just got home from 3 days in the hospital having IV drips of antibiotics for cellulitis in my foot. I think it was caused by a bug bite. Not fun. But the foot is less swollen and not as red. That's a good thing. I don't want to go thru that again. See you next month at the IWSG Blog Hop.
