I am no technological genius when it comes to understanding how a computer works. A computer is like a car to me. I don't care how it works, I just want to turn it on, put it in gear, press down on the accelerator and drive. So when my laptop doesn't go when I click on it, I am stuck taking it to my computer guru to fix it.
Frustration Attack Due to a Slow PC

Don't you hate it when you're geeked up to write the novel of the century, but you have to sit and wait for your computer to wake up or to even open a site? Nothing drains the creativity like a PC that lags.

My most frequent malady is a slow computer. I can spend a lot of wasted time waiting for the PC to perform on request. Fortunately, my guru man downloaded a FREE program that speeds up the computer. The program is Ccleaner.

My computer club guru added AdwCleaner to my icons.

So with both of these programs, I can often speed up my laptop. But, you really need to use these programs every week to remove the build-up of unwanted programs and junkware and to optimize your PC. These sites will do it at no cost to you.

You can download them by clicking on the links below. Using them is simple. Just watch your screen.

Ccleaner  https://www.ccleaner.com/ Ccleaner to speed up and optimize your PC

AdwCleaner  https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ AdwCleaner "The world’s most popular adware cleaner finds and removes unwanted programs and junkware so your online experience stays optimal and hassle-free."

Hope this helps to take away your frustration caused by a s-l-o-w PC.

Do you have other tips to speed up a slow PC? Please share below in the comments section. Thank you.

I used that CCleaner a long time ago. I have the paid version of malwarebytes premium. I have been using a free shareware for last 4 years that has an extensive selection free. From here Juneta @ Writer's Gambit

I redownload CCleaner and will try it too. See which I like best. I also do a cleaning on my Chrome browser from the browser itself which helps.

Okay wrong link. Glary Utilities https://www.glarysoft.com/glary-utilities/downloadupdate.php

I have tried these. Luckily, I just bought a new desktop with a very fast i9 chip and a big SSD drive. I'll be happy for at least a few years!

This link is free one like your CCleaner but does more fyi.

For Chrome - the 3 dots in upper corner, then scroll down and choose More Tools, then Clear Browsing data, and check what you want cleaned. I uncheck passwords, autofill data, site setting, and host apps as I don't like trying to figure out how to sign badk on to sites I use a lot, so leave that data.

I really like the CCleaner one as I have less choices and now only use Glary for things it doesn't do. Thanks for the link for that.

Thanks for the tips! Are you using the free version of CCleaner, or the paid version? Is the upgrade worth the price?

I run optimization on my computer automatically. Since I don't allow anyone else to use my laptop, I don't get so much junk buildup. Slow computers do drain the creative juices.

Thank you so much for this reminder. I need to defragment my hard drive too :)

Iola--I'm using the free version. Never even checked into the paid. LOL

J.Q. Rose said...

Do you have a software program to optimize your computer automatically? What do you use?

J.Q. Rose said...

You're welcome Erika! Yes, housekeeping for computers.

Thanks for these recommendations, JQ. It's frustrating when the laptop begins to slow down. I use Windows Disk Cleanup and also Avast virus scanner.
