A period when normal government is suspended,
esp. between successive reigns or regimes
an interval or pause, Kindle dictionary
When I came across this word, I thought it sounded like a part of the body. I learned I was wrong. Not even close.
Do you often read the entire sentence to figure out the meaning of the word without having to drag out the dictionary? Me too. But with kindle, I just hold my thumb on the word, and the definition pops up. No guessing.

But I digress. With a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor, Pat Conroy wrote about his short time as a substitute school principal in his memoir, The Waters are Wide. He introduced a letter he was given during his “interregnum as principal.” I assume he was thinking he was in-between regimes or government used in this way. After all, he was a lowly first-year teacher and had to follow the strict rules placed upon him by the principal and the other teacher in the school.
|Taking a trip in April|
I've thought about taking a pause with this challenge since I'll be traveling in April. The interregnum between leaving and arriving will be difficult for me to connect online. I can schedule posts, but I won't have internet service for several days, and I hate trying to use my phone to answer emails and post comments. So if you discover I am not replying to comments, just know I'm probably on the road.
I'm very proud of myself for using this new word in a sentence. I love your comments when you tell me you want to use the daily word in a conversation. Go for it!
