Remembering 9-1-1

Every year when this date rolls around,
I am heartbroken for those families and friends
touched by the tragedy of 9-1-1.

I am sorry for the loss this nation experienced,
our loss of innocence.
We had to face a whole new reality for our lives.

I hope we can use this tragedy to bring good
into the hearts of our people and the world.

Some are trying to promote kindness on this day.
Let's start with our community
and be kind to each other
even if it's opening a door for someone,
smiling, or saying thank you
That's a beginning.

Thank you for stopping in today during this time of reflection and renewal.

Sincerely,
Janet
