October 4 question:
The topic of AI writing has been heavily debated across the world. According to various sources, generative AI will assist writers, not replace them.
What are your thoughts?

The Future for Writers?

AI is described as a tool to help writers. How does it fit into your writing future?

I've used Grammarly for years for editing and that program is considered an AI tool.
As long as we use AI as a tool, and it doesn't use writers, AI is fine.

When setting up your book, Amazon now asks if the book's content is AI-assisted or AI-generated. Grammarly and ProWriting or any similar companies are considered AI-assisting writers. At this writing, I don't know the purpose of collecting the information. Do you?

Most self-publishing gurus I have listened to embrace using AI to brainstorm ideas, develop book descriptions and create marketing pieces.

In a sense, the future of AI-generated books will be in the hands of readers. They will determine if artificial intelligence will be successful because book buyers will vote with their dollars and reviews.

In the future, I do not see the tool replacing writers because AI has no voice, no soul, no heart.

ANNOUNCING!!

As you may know, I am a life storytelling evangelist. I encourage everyone to tell their life stories. .Today I am pushing through my insecurity to reveal the book cover (so far) for my second book in the Book Series for Telling Your Life Story. Below is the first book, Your Words, Your Life Story: a Journal for Sharing Memories

TIP for YOU: I titled the eBook Your Words, Your Life Story: A Guide for Sharing Memories because you cannot journal within an eBook (yet anyway.) The print book is titled Your Words, Your Life Story: A Journal for Sharing Memories because it has lined pages for journaling. The titles do not exactly match, therefore amazon did not link the books on the same sales page. So be careful about how you title your books if you want to have them linked to one page.

Your Words, Your Life Story by J.Q.Rose
The first book in the series.

Your Words, Your Life Story: A Journal for Sharing Memories, is a journal and a guide for capturing the moments that impacted your life—the happy, sad, funny and crazy times that shaped a generation that family and friends want to relive through your words.

Today I am thrilled to introduce my second book about writing life stories, but this one helps writers stick to one theme, writing about their life with Jesus.

And NOW the Book Cover for Book #2 in the series, Your Life with Jesus: How to Spark Memories and Write Your Spiritual Memoir

Your Life with Jesus by J.Q. Rose

Many feel a spiritual connection to nature or the afterlife, but the theme of this book is based on a personal connection with Jesus.

Part One of the book includes information on ways to ignite memories and tips on writing stories readers will want to read. Part Two includes a journal with topics accompanied by a verse from the Bible and a writing prompt to shake the dust off those memories. Readers can choose the topics that resonate with them.

Your Life with Jesus will be released in November and will make a meaningful Christmas gift for friends and family. Plus, it will be a gift to you when the recipient shares the stories of her life with you.

Thank you to this group of bloggers who support each other and can celebrate together the milestones in each writer's writing life. So go ahead and get to dancin' with me with the release of this book!

I love book two in the series.

AI may not have a voice or soul, but it's already being used to write articles.

Congrats on your new book. I love the cover. I agree that AI is a tool from my use of it for work. But it won't replace writers.

Hi,
I journal with Day One my iPad. Have been doing that since the app came out. I used to write my journal by hand but my writing pace was too slow even for me. I hope both of your journal come out and offer us the possiblity to be able to write in them. Especially the one with the journey with Jesus. I am sure I will purchase that one.
All the best and congratulations!

Hey, J.Q. Congrats on your next book. I will definitely buy it when it comes out.
So I don't use Grammarly, but I do use the editing tools in Word. I will have a book come out sometime next spring. Do you think I'll need to say it was AI assisted? It seems to me Amazon needs to come up with some distinction between grammar assists vs ideas or writing whole paragraphs. I kind of regret doing an audio version of TAINTED which is AI, not because it sounds funny, It doesn't but if I couldn't afford to do a "real actor," I think I just should've skipped it. It just appears on Apple. Again, congrats on your next release. :)
